archaeology discovery missions by our crew have focused on locating
shipwrecks associated with 17th and 18th-century piracy.

Expedition Whydah The Whydah pirate shipwreck site was discovered in 1984 by underwater explorer Barry Clifford and his team. Mr. Clifford continues to direct the ongoing excavation of the wreck in a project that has been described by state and federal regulatory agencies as "a model for private archaeology." |
Quest for Captain Kidd Having obtained permits for underwater exploration in and around Ile a Vache on the south coast of Haiti, preliminary surveys revealed that the beautiful reefs around this island not only abound with marine life, but are also home to numerous shipwrecks of historical and cultural significance. |
Quest for Captain Morgan In 1999 and 2000, Barry Clifford and his Project Team completed three major expeditions to Ile Ste. Marie off the east coast of Madagascar, as a Discovery Channel "Quest" initiative. Five shipwreck sites were discovered.
