From the very beginnings of the Whydah Project, we have always emphasized the potential educational aspects of our work; especially insofar as these can be incorporated in public exhibitions of our discoveries.
In 2007, we expanded this commitment beyond Expedition Whydah Sea-Lab & Learning Center at the Whydah Pirate Museum to create a major nation-wide traveling exhibition of selected Whydah artifacts entitled REAL PIRATES under the sponsorship of The National Geographic Society.
This blockbuster exhibit has received rave reviews, and has proven extraordinarily popular at venues including: The Museum Center in Cincinnati, The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, The Field Museum in Chicago, Nauticus Maritime Museum in Norfolk, The St. Louis Science Center, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and The Arizona Science Center.
Real Pirates is currently at Union Station in Kansas City, MO. Click here for more information.
